While it is a popular holiday in the United States, Halloween is also the season when Americans spend the most. It is forecasted that in 2022 people will spend around $10.6 billion on Halloween-related items.

Halloween is the season of ghosts, goblins and ghouls. However, the spookiest sight would be the bills you rack up. That is why a lot of us worry about the last-minute costs this Halloween. Fret not. We are here to help.

We’re sure you must be thinking of tips and tricks to save money this Halloween on last-minute costs. Here are a few:

Go DIY on decorations

We often waste a lot of money buying decorations for Halloween and get bored if we reuse the decorations every year, you’ll be surprised to know the number of decorations you can make at home with the items lying at your home.

You can use black garbage bags, cotton balls, and cardboard to make cobwebs, tombstones, and yard spiders very easily. As for the pop of color for your decorations, you can pour orange and yellow candies and light up candles.

Make your own costumes

We waste a lot of money on buying outfits for Halloween that we do not wear more than once or twice and buying outfits for your whole family often goes up to a whopping $400.

So making your costumes is a feasible option it may take a little more time but it surely saves a lot of money. Another option that you can go for is to buy your outfits from a thrift store.

Buy candy from a wholesale store

Try buying candy in bulk from warehouses like Costco, GFS, or sam’s club. And if you can’t buy candies from warehouses then you can go to dollar stores store owners there usually offer you candies of brand names at lower prices.

Buy pumpkins last minute

Delay buying pumpkins till 30 October or a few days before Halloween and instead of buying pumpkins from farms buy them from the grocery stores, many grocery stores drop pumpkin prices before Halloween to clear out inventory before the post-festival big drop.
