Cumberbatch was born on July 19, 1976, in Hammersmith, London, England, and grew up in a family of actors. Because of this, he was sent to attend the prestigious Harrow School on an Arts scholarship. The school ignited his acting career as he was involved in numerous Shakespearean plays. He graduated from the University of Manchester, where he majored in Drama and from there, he went on to study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. And that’s where it all began.
