Elon Musk says businesses and governments might have to pay to use Twitter

Elon Musk has hinted that businesses and government agencies may soon need to pay to use Twitter.

Musk tweeted, “Twitter will always be free for casual users, but maybe a slight cost for commercial/ government users.”

If the move is implemented, Twitter will be the first major social media company to charge users.

The Tesla CEO acquired the social media giant for $44 billion in cash.

Elon Musk has a net worth of $250 billion.

The world’s richest man also indicated he may ease Twitter’s censorship policies and verify every user.

He had previously said he was going to cut the site’s $3-a-month premium membership Twitter Blue and letting members pay in Dogecoin.
